Nook Eatery

When the weather is good, a mini-roadtrip through the country to the charming town of Stellenbosch is so idyllic, especially when accompanied by good music. A perfect reason to make this drive is Nook Eatery, a place that sells such good cinnamon buns that my friends and I will drive all the way from Cape Town to get them. Nook is a delightful little restaurant with delicious food and apples on their latte art- totally worth the trip:)

Keep on Bowlin'

Alias's strikes and splits– it all went down last night when we went bowling with our homies! It was a tight game but in the end Dangerous Dan topped the scores with Stryker and Bobby Dazzler close behind. The Duchess, Accurate Amy and Split Happens also made an appearance. In true bowling style, we couldn't resist grabbing some milkshakes after the game- mmmm!

Heartfelt

Women. We are vulnerable, yet strong, delicate, yet resilient. We are the carers, the lovers, the daughters, the mothers, the sisters and the friends who bring richness and joy to those around us and every now and then we need time to share the stories of our struggles, joys, insecurities and triumphs. This happens every year at Heartfelt, a woman's evening at Commonground Church Rondebosch, where women are encouraged and inspired by the stories told. The pictures above give a glimpse of the beautiful decor and yummy treats which we were spoilt with:)

Pinwheel Pastry Treats

This recipe was given to me by my lovely friend Tammy at my kitchen tea. It is so simple and delicious! We're going to a cheese and wine evening tonight and these are just the perfect snacks to take along:)

Ingredients:
1 x roll of puff pastry
Bovril/Martmite (your preference)
Cheese

Method:
1) heat oven to 200 degrees C.
2) defrost puff pastry before hand and then unroll and lay flat on a surface.

3) spread Bovril/Marmite all over one side of the puff pastry so it covers the whole roll.

4) sprinkle with grated cheese.

5) roll pastry into a log so that the side without the toppings is showing- make sure that it is tightly rolled.
6) slice into thin slices (about 2cm) and lay slices on baking tray already sprayed with Spray and Cook.

7) Bake for about 20-25 mins or until pastry is golden and cheese is melted.

Last night we celebrated Lauren's birthday in bad-sweatered glory. Here's some pictures of what people pitched up in- good sport everyone!

You, Me and Everyone We Know Market

Beneath bunting and balloons, this is where vintage dreams are made.
